By Jay Pees

Conneaut, OH (July 17, 2015): The Bonnell Auto Sales Economods took center stage for a $500 to win special Friday night with defending champion Josh Ferry in championship form, leading from green flag to the checkers in a dominating performance punctuated by six caution periods. Defending Bonnell Collision Center RUSH Crate Late Model champion Kyle Zimmerman finally broke through with a win after starting sixth on the grid. Percy McDonald picked up his third Bonnell Collision Center E-Mod win of the season on his 42nd birthday. Points leader Shaun Fawcett took over at the front with two laps remaining and went on to his fourth win of the Campbell's Mini-Storage Street Stock season while Jason Easler got his first win of the season, outdistancing the field in the Specialty Products Mini Stock finale.

The first feature on the track was the Campbell's Mini-Storage Street Stocks with Chris Hochschild and Mark Frontera on the front row. Hochschild, looking for his first ever feature win, led from the start with Frontera second and points leader Shaun Fawcett third. On lap four Hochschild went wide in turn four allowing Frontera and Fawcett to get by. A lap later Fawcett went low and got next to the leader but fell back in line on the front straight. At six laps Dan McEwen spun, slowing the field under caution for the first time in the race. Frontera brought the field back to green with Fawcett trying both high and low to get by, until lap thirteen when he got by heading into turn three when Frontera went high, getting into the wall and bringing yellow over the field. Over the final two laps, Fawcett led with Chris Withers coming to second with one to go over Hochschild, Rob Bates, and Anthony Marotto. It was the fourth win of the season for the points leader.

The Specialty Products Mini Stocks were next on the track with Andy Proper and Jason Easler pacing the field. Easler grabbed the lead at the green. Before the completion of one lap caution flew for debris in turn four. Again Easler led at the drop of the green. Caution flew again at lap three when defending champion Dale Fraschetti hit the front straight wall just out of turn four. Easler again led with Proper second over points leader Brad Cole and last week's winner Bud Sergeff. Sergeff came to third at five laps complete. At the end of eight Sergeff was second looking to close Easler's near quarter lap lead. Sergeff never got closer as Easler went on to his first victory of the season over Sergeff, with Justin Boardman third. Andy Proper and Scott Gill filled out the top five.

The Bonnell Auto Sales Economods were brought to green by Steve Haefke and Josh Ferry, the defending champion. Ferry led the first two laps of the twenty-lap special. Brandon Blackshear spun on lap three, slowing the event for the first time. Blackshear spun again on the restart in turn one, again slowing the field. Ferry led again after green with Haefke second and Rusty Wheeler third, up from ninth at the start. At four laps complete Blackshear spun yet again in turn one, ending his night. Again on green Ferry led, this time with Wheeler coming to second over Haefke with Brad Blackshear fourth and Eric Reinwald fifth at five complete then Prosser taking over fifth a lap later. Prosser spun out of fifth with nine laps complete. With eleven laps remaining Ferry again brought the field back to green with Wheeler, Haefke, Brad Blackshear, and Mitch Wright the top five. At halfway James Myers and Chuck Steinle Sr got together in turn four, slowing the action yet again. With five remaining Ferry led Haefke, Wright, Brad Blackshear, and Prosser. Wright looped his mount in turn four the Blackshear was sent to the rear for the restart due to his part in the incident. Ferry again brought the field to green, this time with Haefke still second, then Lee Patrick, RJ Simmons, and Reinwald. Ferry went on to his fourth win of the season over Haefke, Patrick, Brad Blackshear, and Simmons. In post-race inspection the third and fifth place finishers were disqualified for having four barrel carburetors, moving Blackshear to third, Eric Reinwald to fourth, and Prosser to fifth.

Jesse Gould and Jim Plance brought the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods to green with Gould leading through lap two after a first lap restart. Plance got the lead at the end of three laps. At five complete Josh McDonald spun in turn four also involving Gary Murphy, Shane Crotty, and Jimmy Diabo. At six compete caution again flew again for Josh McDonald, spinning in turn four. Points leader Percy McDonald got the lead on lap seven. At halfway McDonald led Plance, Dan McDonald, Leonard Enos and Gould. At lap twelve Kenny Zimmer spun coming out of turn four. At green after yet another yellow Dan McDonald came to second and set off chasing his brother with Leonard Enos now third. With two laps remaining Howard Fraley got by Enos for third. The finish was Percy McDonald for his third win of the season over Dan McDonald, Howard Fraley, Leonard Enos, and Jim Plance.  As a bonus, the winner was celebrating his 42nd birthday!

The night-capper was the Evergreen Lake Park Campground CARS Crate Late Model feature with Darrell Bossard and Dave Lyon on the front row. Lyon took the immediate lead with Bossard second at the end of one lap. Chad Wright, looking for win number seven of the season, was second at the end of two with single winner Billy Henry up to third. Defending champion Kyle Zimmerman was fourth at five laps complete. Lyon and Wright pulled away from the field with Wright getting alongside and getting by at the halfway point after the two got together with Lyon getting 'air time' in the incident. At eleven complete William Pinckney spun in turn two right in front of the leaders but both missed him. Lyon was penalized for rough driving under yellow, apparently retaliating against Wright for the earlier incident, and sent to the pit. After green Kyle Zimmerman got by Wright on the first lap with Billy Henry, Dennis Lunger, and Dave Airgood all getting by Wright, fading badly. With two laps remaining Wright spun in turn three, setting up a two-lap dash to the checkers. At green Zimmerman pulled out to the lead with Airgood getting by Lunger. At the stripe it was Zimmerman for his first of the season over Henry, Airgood, Lunger, and Bryan Salisgury
