ST. HELENA, Calif. (August 26, 2019) – Rico Abreu’s weekend on the West Coast with the King of the West Sprint Car Series presented by NARC was more than productive, turning four starts with California’s premier 410c.i. sprint car series into four top-ten finishes, one of which a top-five to open the four-race week during action at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, California, on Wednesday, August 21. Impressive enough, Abreu started 12th on the grid, advancing his way forward fifth by feature’s end.

Although his ‘worst’ finish of the week by definition, Abreu, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Golden State Restaurant Group/Lucas Oil Products/Southern Pacific Farms/Priority Aviation/Self Made Racing/Dancer Logistics/No. 24 sprint car, finished tenth during action at Silver Dollar Speedway on Thursday, August 22, rebounding for the top-ten performance after being forced to go to the tail as the result of a mechanical issue.

Abreu’s four-day KWS/NARC tour ended at the Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, California, on Friday and Saturday, August 23 & 24. After starting eighth and seventh during feature action, the St. Helena, California-native capped the two-day Champions Classic with a seventh and sixth place finish, respectively.

“We are proud of our results, but I know we have the potential to do better,” Rico Abreu said, who owns four wins in 2019. “It was a long week. I’m proud of my team for hanging tough and doing everything they could to help us improve each night. It’s not easy out there, that’s for sure. At least we get to spend a few days close to home before heading over to Calistoga.”

The two-day KWS/NARC Louie Vermeil Classic at Calistoga Speedway is next up on Rico Abreu’s 2019 campaign schedule, taking over headlines in wine country on Saturday and Sunday, August 31 & September 1.

Fans should note that Rico Abreu’s merchandise van will be on the Calistoga Speedway grounds.
