The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech has always shined across generations and that shown prominently on August 10th. Former Legend car racer James Edsall moved into the Brown’s Oil Service Late Models just a few months back. Saturday, he reached the coveted spot, victory lane in a 50-lap Figure 8 holding off former champs Jesse and Ben Tunny. Mike Riddle Jr was fourth and Artie Ware fifth. Speaking of family, Artie’s son Alex captured his first ever class win in the 25-lap Oval feature ahead of Eddie VanMeter, Riddle, Edsall, and Brad Brooks.   Part two of the family double-up came in the INEX Legends presented by Last Chance Wrecker and A&M Customs. Alan Edsall, Figure 8 winner James’ son, kept his month-long momentum rolling taking his fourth consecutive feature triumph and making it a special father-son night. Point leader Tony Paquette was the runner-up followed by Manny Aguilar, Tim Logue, and Zach Gremore. Edsall and John Cosby took home heat race trophies.   Saturday was one of the signature Shelbyville Auto Parts Thundercar events, the 40 Lap Toby Eads Memorial. A special thanks goes out to Lawrence Towing, the Eads family and friends for their support. There was a season-high 21 cars on hand. Richard Byrd led initially before Josh Garr snagged first place. The championship contending trio took over the battle near midway. And they would come home in their current standings order. Nate Canter was the winner with Joe Gonder Jr second, Dale Harper third trailed by Garr and Billy Bartholomew.   There was a stout roster ready for action in the Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives. Preliminary races were conquered by Kyle Dubecky, Nigel Peters, Robby Mink Jr, and Brad Bohnenkamp. Peters would shine supreme taking his third victory in the last five main events. Tylar Brown was the runner-up followed by Jeremy Tunny, Andrew Brown, and Kimmie Greig. The 20-lap Powder Puff feature saw Kristin Armour taking her second 2019 victory over Emerald Gill, Angie Morefield, Jerica Smith, and Jordan Koontz.
