Hello Racing Community i went to Thunder Valley Speedway in Salem,Indiana Friday Night. Unfortunately the entire racing program was rained out. I did take some pictures of the cars before they loaded up on trailers to go home. Thunder Valley Speedway has a curfew because the track sits in the very middle of town. I hope I can get back to the track very soon.

Saturday Night I went to Salem Speedway the big high banked half mile which sits on the outskirts of town. The Ford Crown Victoria Division debut this night and all three of there features were awesome with 19 or 20 cars in each one!

The Great American Stock Street Stock Division put on a great show with the Annual Firecracker 125 with Heath Helton winning the feature which wad very exciting and wreck filled. Brian Bayer,Trent Bayer,Brandon Deckard and Kyle Hadley were all involved in crashes. Skeeter Crum was involved in a crash where he was eliminated from 5th place in running order. This was Heath Helton’s second feature win in a row in GAS Street Stock competition.

I really love the drive and the atmosphere at Salem Speedway. It kind of feels like a home track for me because its a very relaxed comfortable vibe i get at Salem Speedway!

As I waited in line for my pit armband I was able to interview 3 or 4 driver’s about there racing experiences at the racetrack. Racing is truly a close knit fraternity and I never felt this feeling as strongly as I did in talking with driver’s and crewmen in that long lengthy line. Most of the drivers at Salem Speedway to me are heroes and brave men who are undaunted by the challenges of the Salem Highbanks!
