‘Micro-Entertainment’ Intermission
Scrubbed for Next Wednesday;
USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget Race Set for Gas City
GAS CITY, Ind., May 29 – In a news release earlier today, Gas City I-69 Speedway officials outlined details in promoting the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget Championship event set for next Wednesday, June 5, including “micro-entertainers” competing in boxing and wrestling entertainment during intermission. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances that portion of the evening’s entertainment has been cancelled.
“After more conversations regarding logistics, executing the micro-entertainment program during intermission isn’t feasible in a 20-minute window, so we will revisit that form of entertainment when we have more time available,” said track promoter Jerry Gappens. “It is a mid-week show and we expect large fields and we want to move the show along as quickly as possible. Our team here is focused on putting on a great and exciting night of racing next Wednesday.”
The annual USAC Indiana Midget Week event will feature top open-wheel drivers from around the country competing in USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midgets, non-wing sprint cars, and non-wing 600cc micro-sprints.
Tickets, priced at $25 for adults and $10 for students, will be available at the speedway ticket office the night of the event. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. For more information see gascityI69speedway.com.
