PORTAGE, Wis. (January 4, 2019) – The TUNDRA Super Late Model Series Powered by Wisconsin Potatoes released its 2019 schedule Friday. The schedule features six races at six tracks in the state of Wisconsin.
For the sixth consecutive season the series will begin its campaign at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wis., on Saturday, May 11. Last year’s Krolls West Round One was washed out on Saturday’s original date and run on Sunday. Former Champion Dennis Prunty scored his first TUNDRA victory away from Dells Raceway Park.
On June 9 the series returns to Marshfield Motor Speedway for the Third Annual Bev Aschenbrenner Memorial. Colin Reffner ruled the day in last season’s event by setting fast time and picking up the victory.
The series will make a shift from past seasons and head to Dells Raceway Park on Saturday, July 6 for Round Three. TUNDRA will look to revive the North American Cup traditionally held on Fourth of July Weekend at the third-mile. Mike Lichtfeld and Carson Kvapil were victorious in features at TUNDRA’s birthplace last season.
It will be a quick turnaround of just two weeks when TUNDRA returns to action at Wisconsin’s Action Track – Jefferson Speedway – on Saturday, July 20 for Round Four. Last season John Beale outlasted the rain drops and Dennis Prunty to score his first series win.
A busy stretch continues as TUNDRA rolls into Round Three at State Park Speedway in Wausau, Wis., on Saturday, August 3 for Round Five. The event will return to its early-August date as it had been held in the past. Mark Mackesy scored his second TUNDRA win at Wausau in 2018. He also has won in series action at Golden Sands.
For the first time in TUNDRA history the season Champion will be crowned on Labor Day at Golden Sands – Monday, September 2. Last season’s date at GSS was rained out, but this season’s event promises to be worth the wait with a title on the line.
Support divisions for the 2019 season’s events will be named at a later time.
