RICHARD’S OF DUNBAR SPONSORS NORWAY SPEEDWAY “LONG HAUL”

AWARD FOR 35TH ANNUAL STATELINE CHALLENGE FRIDAY JULY 6

(Norway, MI) – Richards of Dunbar Supper Club & Motel will sponsor the “Long Haul” award for Norway Speedway’s 35th annual Stateline Challenge presented by Island Resort and Casino Friday July 6.

Richard’s will award $200 cash to the weekly super late model driver who tows the furthest to compete in the prestigious event.

Richard’s is owned by Randy and Lynne Sippel. The Elkhart Lake couple own and operate the supper club in Marinette County. Randy is a long time sprint car racer himself and still runs the Sippel sprint car racing school at several dirt tracks across northeast Wisconsin.

Richards serves up a full menu six days a week. Located at W11466 US-8 in Dunbar, they are well known for their Monday night 50 cent jumbo wings, Friday night fish fry and prime rib on Saturdays. The hotel often hosts dozens of ATV and fishing enthusiasts in the summer months and hunters and snowmobilers in the fall and winter months.

Richards offers access to the popular Marinette county ATV and snowmobile trail system, with the trails leaving the Richards parking lot. Call Richards at 715 324 5444 for more information.

NASCAR truck champion Johnny Sauter of Necedah will be on hand to compete in the event for the second straight year. A number of top competitors from Wisconsin are expected to give the Norway regulars a run for their money. A 75 lap super late model feature is on tap.

The pit gates open at 3 p.m. Qualifying begins at 5:45 p.m. Racing gets underway at 7 p.m.  A ceremony at intermission honoring the past champions of the prestigious event will take place. A raindate of Saturday, July 7 is in place if needed.
