Cory Haas earns top-five against Outlaws; Earns National Open start

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

YORK, PA (October 2, 2017) – Cory Haas opened his 2017 Champion Racing Oil National Open campaign in a big way by earning a top-five finish against the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Thursday, September 28. It was Haas’ first top-five finish of the season against the Greatest Show On Dirt, moving ahead from seventh on the grid to claim fifth at the final finish.

The York native capped off his three-race weekend with a 15th place finish during the Champion Racing Oil National Open finale on Saturday, September 30. It was a great effort by the Trone Outdoor Motorsports program, earning a spot in the $50,000-to-win blockbuster by finishing second during the evening’s B-main.

“It was an awesome weekend for everyone,” Haas explained, pilot of the Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Eagle Steel/Trone Outdoor Advertising/Eagle Evergreens/No. 39. “We were able to piece things together all weekend and it felt great. Earning a top-five finish against that caliber of field isn’t an easy task. I’m proud of my guys. It was a long time coming.”

A pair of Central Pennsylvania programs await Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports during the upcoming weekend including an appearance back at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, October 6. Giving teams an opportunity to bend the rules, a “Run What You Brung” program will be the headline attraction at the world-famous paperclip awarding $3,800.

Haas will make his return to the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, October 7, for the annual Hank Gentzler Memorial/Manufacturers Appreciation Race presented by Pancho’s Racing Products. Competing in the Pigeon Hills on a near-weekly basis in 2017, Haas accumulated 13 top-ten finishes at Lincoln Speedway this season, nine of which inside the top-five.

“The season is wrapping up pretty quick,” Haas stated, “I think we have it in us to get a win here soon.”
