Dietrich sixth in Tuscarora 50; Central PA triple next
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, PA (September 12, 2017) – Joining the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at the Port Royal “Speed Palace” on September 8-9, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich ended his recent weekend of competition with a pair of sixth place finishes, one of which during the 50th running of the Tuscarora 50 worth $50,000; the largest event in the history of Port Royal Speedway.
The entire weekend proved to be a success for the Gettysburg native, solidifying feature qualification on both nights by finishing no worse than second during his respective heat races. Despite falling to sixth by features end, Dietrich battled hard during the Tuscarora 50 finale on Saturday night, pressuring eventual winner, Lance Dewease, for the top spot until the pair entered traffic.
“It was a good weekend for our team. I can’t say enough about what we’ve been able to accomplish this year,” Dietrich explained, pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Gsell’s Whitetails/Hickory Run Orchards/Carlisle Auto Salvage/CATS Used Truck Parts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Bowman Block & Head Repair/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 29. “The Tuscarora 50 is one race we really wanted. I thought maybe we were going to have a shot at it. It got away this year, but we’ll be even more ready next year when they award $51,000.”
A Central Pennsylvania triple-header on Friday through Sunday, September 15-17, stands next for Danny Dietrich; Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday, and Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday.
Highlighting the weekend in Central Pennsylvania will be the 35th Annual Jim Nace Memorial National Open at Selinsgrove Speedway. The Arctic Cat All Star sanctioned event will award a $8,000 top prize; the final event on Selinsgrove’s 2017 schedule. Dietrich is the defending Selinsgrove Speedway winner against Tony Stewart’s All Stars.
The Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway program on Sunday, September 17, is also sanctioned by the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
“The goal is to win all three,” Dietrich said. “I think we have a good shot. I have a great group who support me and help make that possible. I wouldn’t be where I am without them.”
