TOO MANY RAINDROPS PREVENTS NAPA WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY RACING ACTION

Saturday, July 22, 2017

Orrville, Ohio

By Mike Swanger

For the first time since April 29th and May 6th, rain stopped any chance of racing action at NAPA Wayne County Speedway Saturday night that was to feature the 3rd annual Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week and the Don Gross Memorial along with the Fisher Performance Sprints, the Lowes Super Stocks and the WQKT 104.5 Mini Stocks. Heavy rains in the early morning that continued intermittently throughout the late morning and early afternoon with chance of pop up storms for the late afternoon until night, made promoters Jason and Kristin Flory reluctantly to call off the racing program. A date for the Don Gross Memorial is still being considered.

This Saturday, July 29th will highlight the return of the Ohio Sprint Car Series for their third trip to ‘Orrville’s Historic Oval’. Points leader Cole Duncan will lead the OSCS into the nights action as he also has one of the two wins in their races at NAPA WCS and also has a second place finish in the other race that was co sanctioned by the Arctic Cat All Stars which was won by Joey Saldana. The Kar Connection Super Late Models, the Lowes Super Stocks and the WQKT 104.5 Mini Stocks will continue their points battles.

Coming up on Saturday, August 5th it will be Kid’s Night as all four of the regular class’ of cars will be racing. Activities and prizes will be happening for the Kid’s that night.
