Saturday night at Crystal Motor Speedway was another busy night in the pits and on the track. Over 127 cars made the way to the high banked clay track to compete for the large crowd on hand. The evening was sponsored by C.L. Trucking and Excavating of Ionia.

Ryan Lanphierd led a contingent of drivers from Midland, to win the Kentucky Fried Chicken Late Model feature over Derrick Hilliker, Midland, David Hilliker, Midland, Michael Archer, Jackson, and Logan Love of Vestaburg. Rick Swartout of Union City grabbed the B feature win, and Amanda Wing, Middleton, Archer, and Brad Buskirk of Alma took heat wins.

Greenville’s Jerry Hunt got the early lead in the Lane Automotive IMCA Modified division and scored his first feature of 2017. Brady Hollenbeck grabbed second place, followed by Chad Wernette, Sheridan, Cory Ruesink, Lowell, and Chance Allen of Alma. AJ Ward, Ionia, Chance Allen, Alma, and Chad Wernette of Sheridan brought home heat wins.

Andrew Fidler of Elwell, held off a field of heavy hitters to take the Next Level Graphics and Design Street Stock feature over Jasen Wiley, Fenwick, George Wease, Hubbardston, Ryan Alexander, Stanton, Will Stanley of Lake. Billy Wilkens of Gowen won the B Main with heats falling to Wease, Alexander, and Brandon Cunningham of Sheridan.

Allen Roszell of Sheridan put another feature win in the Races On The Web Flinn Stock in his personal record book with Rusty Sowles from Howard City. Draven Grosvenor, Crystal placed third, followed by Collin Schafer, Muir, and Kolby Rohn of Sheridan. Heats were claimed by Schafer and Grosvenor.

Chad Raby of Riverdale had the hot foot in the Port City Racing Pro Stock feature, taking the win overĀ  Eric Baird, Lowell, Jeramie Raby, Mt Pleasant, Don Rohn, Sheridan, and Mike VanderMark Jr., of Sparta. Raby and VanderMark Jr also picked up wins in the heat events.

The Engine Pro Pro Truck feature was a hot race, finally being taken by Curtis Rice from Muskegon beating out Chris Malek, Alma, Kenny Dittenber, Carson City, Jim Beltz, Kent City, andĀ  Matt Pickard of Grant. Paul Grosnickle of Lansing and Malek took wins in the earlier heat events.

The Mini Wedge class, sponsored by the Greenville Daily News saw Andrew Bogart of Howard City, take the 10-14-year-old division over Brent Wonch, Stanton, Thomas Parker, Wayland, Dillon Kohn, Sheridan, and Riley Bowen from Sheridan. The six to nine-year-old feature fell to Jazzlyn Hale of Crystal, followed by Lilyann Montgomery, Crystal, Teegan Williams, Stanton, June Dora, Fenwick, and Zayden Buskirk of Crystal.

Next week at Crystal Motor finds the Engine Pro SOD Sprints making their second appearance of the season with the Pro Trucks taking the night off. Gates open at 4:30.
