Hartford, OH October 15, 2020 Beginning with the 92nd anniversary season in 2021 and continuing through 2024, Whelen Engineering will be the presenting sponsor of the Econo Mod division at Sharon Speedway. In addition, the track will be utilizing Whelen’s safety lightning with their state-of-the-art traffic lights and light bars.

“We’re excited to welcome on Whelen as the divisional sponsor of the Econo Mods while at the same time upgrading our track safety lighting,” said Sharon general manager Dave Willoughby. “This will be another great improvement to the facility after the addition of the new red clay surface and infield fan zone in recent years. We have to thank Peter Tiezzi III for his efforts in allowing this partnership to happen.”

The Econo Mod division was created in 2010 and has been a weekly division ever since with strong car counts. A total of 135 races have been run with 32 different winners led by Brandon Blackshear with 21 victories.

Dave Blaney, one of the Sharon Speedway owners, had a previous relationship with Whelen Engineering when he competed full-time in NASCAR driving for Whelen-sponsored teams for several years.
