BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 5, 2019) – Nearly going two-for-two on the weekend, three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and recent NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, Tony Stewart, left the Badger State on Saturday night, August 31, with a victory in his pocket, this time earning an IRA Outlaw Sprint Series feature win at the Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

Resulting in Smoke’s ninth sprint car victory of the year, the triumph was accomplished from the front row, eventually leading all 30 circuits over a fast-charging Bill Balog. Balog, a multi-time IRA champion who has edged-out Stewart at Plymouth in the past, attempted to take the top spot away from the former IRA winner on multiple occasions, but the driver of the Tony Stewat/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 14 sprint car proved to be too strong.

“I love racing at Plymouth Dirt Track,” Tony Stewart said. “I’m glad I didn’t screw this one up like I did at Wilmot Raceway on Friday night. Plymouth is really cool. The fans are just great. We love racing here.”

Tony Stewart opened his weekend in Wisconsin with an IRA Outlaw Sprint Series appearance at Wilmot Raceway on Friday, August 30. Just one lap away from victory, Stewart misjudged his entry into turn three and spun to a stop, ultimately erasing all chances to be on top of the podium. The Columbus, Indiana-native settled for an 11th place finish.

Future plans for Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing stand as uncertain. Fans should stay alert on social media for continuing updates regarding the coming weekend.
