. Add in nine makeup heats and features from the rain-off event from July 27th, and it made for nonstop action all night. H&H Excavating sponsored the event.
In the Kentucky Fried Chicken sponsored Late Model event, Ryan VanderVeen of
Six Lakes pulled out the win over Ionia’s Scott Baker and Carl Ries of
Blanchard. Kyle Borgman of Muskegon and Mike VanderMark Jr. of Cedar Springs
picking up the B Main wins with heats being taken by VanderVeen, Kyle Cole,
Ludington, and Ries. Michael Archer of Jackson won the July 27th makeup
feature.
Brenten DeYoung of Crystal picked up the feature event over Casey Tasker of
Fenwick, and Austin Wonch of Crystal. Earlier heat events fell to DeYoung,
Wonch, and Brody Bowser of Stanton. Brenten DeYoung got his hot streak going as
he also picked up the July 27th makeup event.
Mickey Currier of Sidney was on a roll as he took the win in the Next Level
Graphics and Design Street Stock event. He was followed by Mt. Pleasant’s Ryan
Nethers and Ryan Alexander of Stanton. Heat wins fell to Dustin Weber of
Riverdale, Alexander, and Gabe Gesselman of Muir. Weber also picked up the
makeup feature event.
In the Flinn Stock division, Sumner’s Jarred Wonsey picked up the win over
Jason Barrus, Sheridan, and Rusty Sowles of Greenville. Mike Currier, Fenwick
and Wonsey scored heat event wins. Currier also brought home the makeup feature
win.
Brad Roberts of St. Johns held off a determined Josh Sternberg from Muskegon
for the win in the Port City Racing Pro Stock main event. Andrew Fidler of
Elwell brought home third. Heats were taken by Ryan Teeter of Crystal and
Derrick Dennis of Lakeview. Tim DeGroft picked up the July 27th rain-off event.
Jim Beltz of Kent City grabbed the Engine Pro Pro Truck feature over Rob Putt
of Fenwick and Darin Lund of Sheridan. Former season champion Vern Buskirk
grabbed the heat win. In earlier makeup event, Buskirk held off all comers as
he pocketed the rained off feature event.
The Greenville Daily News beginners Mini-Wedge class saw some exciting action
as Peyton Cunningham of Sheridan climbed six positions to take the win in the
six to nine-year-old division. Mason VanderVeen of Six Lakes came home second,
followed by Landyn Neitling of Saginaw. Cunningham and Tim Painter of Coral won
heats. Painter also scored the makeup event.
In the ten to fourteen-year-old division, Zayden Buskirk of Crystal took the
win, followed by Lilyann Montgomery, Crystal, and Mikah Kurkowski of Sidney.
Bryant VanderMark of Greenville picked up the heat win. Kurkowski brought home
the checkers in the makeup event.
Next week at Crystal Motor Speedway is a full show of all regular divisions
plus the GLOW Vintage Mods. Gates open at 4:30 with racing starting at 7:30.
Adult admission to the grandstands is $15, and kids 5-11 are $5. Pit passes are
