LINDSLEY SHADES KRAVLOVETZ IN NORWAY SPEEDWAY LATE MODEL GO

(Norway, MI) Aug 9 – Vulcan’s Dan Lindsley patiently sifted his way through traffic and grabbed the lead on a late race restart to grab the Werner Electric Supply $1,000 super late model feature at Norway Speedway Friday night.

Vulcan’s Dean Varda jumped into the lead at the drop of the green  of the 50 lap feature and quickly built up a sizeable margin and kept that lead throughout several yellow flags.  Lindsley, who started 12th on the field, had worked his way up to third by mid race and got to within second by lap 33.

Lindsley pressured Varda with the Vulcan driver using every inch of the race track. Lindsley ducked his nose underneath Varda with 11 laps to go. The two made contact with Varda spinning. However Varda received the black flag for not heeding several warnings from track officials to pick a lane.

Lindsley was handed the lead and cruised to victory. Kralovetz took second place, followed by Scott Stanchina, Jason Wells and Bruce White.

Defending Auto Value super stock champion Tim Schultz Jr. padded his current points lead with a feature win.  Schultz, who earlier in the night scored valuable points by copping fast time, kept John Mattia Jr. at bay the balance of the contest through a bevy of yellows. Mattia scored second at the pay window, followed by Anthony Schiefelbein, Adam Faull and Kevin Peterson.

A pair of drivers scored feature wins in their first appearances of the year. Marion, Wisconsin’s B.J. Schoneck made the long haul worthwhile by winning the 141 Auto stock feature while Faithorn’s Trevor Cronick followed suit in the MC Signs & Graphics stock four class.

Freedom’s Cody Vander Loop emerged triumphant in the Ken’s Sports sport truck.

Next Friday night August 16 the speedway will host the Central Upper Peninsula Championship series as racers from north at Sands Speedway in Marquette will come down to battle. Racing gets underway at 6:45 p.m. Please check our website norwayspeedway.com and at our page on Facebook for further information or email ostermannjohn@hotmail.com.
