On behalf of the All Star Circuit of Champions, we send our condolences to the family of Greg Hodnett, his wife Sherry and their family, team owner Mike Heffner and the crew at Heffner Racing, and to all of those throughout the racing community who got to know Greg.

Hodnett, of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash during a sprint car race Thursday night at BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven, Pennsylvania.

“Greg was one of best sprint car drivers in the country, and as good as he was as a sprint car driver, he was an even better person,” said Tony Stewart, owner of the All Star Circuit of Champions. “Everyone respected Greg for his abilities in the car and for who he was outside the car. Our thoughts are with Greg and his family during this incredibly difficult time.”

A true gentleman, as well as a talented competitor, the All Star Circuit of Champions were fortunate to have Hodnett in its presence often, mainly supporting events in Central Pennsylvania. Hodnett amassed 22 All Star victories throughout his storied career, and although his appearances with the Series were sporadic, his on-track abilities and off-track manner left a lasting impression.

We ask that everyone please keep the Hodnett family and Heffner Racing in your prayers.
