ST. HELENA, Calif. (August 27, 2018) – Despite just missing the top-ten during each of his recent starts with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, Rico Abreu’s trek through South Dakota and Montana resulted in consistency, actually finishing each evening with the exact same results. Abreu, a recent winner with the Greatest Show On Dirt – a $20,000 victory at that – hopes to push forward and work his way back toward the front.

“It wasn’t the best of weekends, but these are all new places, so we have a lot to learn,” Rico Abreu explained, driver of the Rico Abreu Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Alpinestars/Priority Aviation/Lucas Oil/Rhino Wipe/No. 24 sprint car. “We are out here racing with the best sprint car drivers in the world. It’s easy to get frustrated, but sometimes we just have to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. I’m excited to keep the season going. We’ll be racing close to home before we know it.”

Abreu’s weekend with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series resulted in back-to-back 13th place finishes, the first at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, South Dakota. The second at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Montana. The recent Ironman 55 champ started each main event from the inside of row eight, ultimately ending each effort with progress.

Tentatively, Rico Abreu will continue westward and follow the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series to the great state of Washington, planning to join the national travelers during a pair of starts at Skagit Speedway on Friday and Saturday, August 31 & September 1, followed by a one-night stop at Grays Harbor Raceway on Monday, September 3.
