NORWAY SPEEDWAY OPENER RAINED OUT

 

(Norway, MI) May 25 – Mother Nature wound up being the ultimate winner at Norway Speedway Friday night as the season opening program was washed out.

 

The second race of the evening – the Auto Value super stock dash, was in progress when the rains started falling.

 

Prior to that Escanaba’s Robby Iverson captured the Coca Cola late model dash. Fast qualifiers were Menominee’s Dalton Zehr (late models), Vulcan’s Tim Schultz (super stocks), Armstrong Creek’s Michelle Janczewski (sportsman) Faithhorn’s Reid Devoe (4 cylinders) and Brad Barglind (sport trucks).

 

The field consisted of 19 late models, 12 super stocks, 16 4 cylinders, 13 sportsman and 17 sport trucks.  

 

Next Friday night June 1 spectator eliminator races will be added to the card. Racing gets underway at 6:45 p.m.
