PITTSBURGH, Pa. (May 1, 2018) – For Danny Holtgraver, there are few things better than racing close to home.

Continuing a short, yet competitive 2018 campaign, “Downtown” Danny Holtgraver will work for a combined winner’s share equalling $10,000 during the upcoming weekend, set to join Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 during visits to Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., as well as Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday, May 4-5, respectively. Each event will award a $5,000 top prize.

Certainly no stranger to All Star Circuit of Champions competition, the former Series full-timer owns a total of 12 All Star victories, one at Lernerville and one at Sharon, most notably scoring the 2016 Lou Blaney Memorial at Sharon Speedway worth $10,000. Including his triumphs in Western Pennsylvania and northeast Ohio, Holtgraver has visited All Star victory lane in six states, winning main events at ten different dirt ovals.

Although boasting an impressive stat sheet, the Pittsburgh native has not earned an All Star victory since 2016, last bettering America’s Series during a visit to Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway. It was Holtgraver’s first and only visit to the southern Indiana oval.

“I’m overdue, I guess,” Holtgraver said after discussing his All Star career. “At times, I do miss racing a lot more and being out on the road, but most of the time I’m perfectly content with the schedule that my dad and I put together. It’s nice to just pick and choose what we want, and if I feel like taking a weekend off, I do it. With that said, that doesn’t mean I’m not concerned with racing well and winning races. You’ll always want to win races. I just don’t have as many opportunities anymore.”

Despite his recent absence from All Star victory lane, the driver of the Bonnell’s Rod Shop/Alternative Power Sources/J.L.T. Racing/Ambulance Information Management/Mel Bagley Auto Services/North Hills Auto Body/Westview Motors/No. D4 sprinter is still winning races, most recently earning a trio of $3,000 victories during action at Mercer (Pa.) Raceway Park and Sharon Speedway in 2017.

“I would love to go out and get one in front of my friends and family, especially an All Star win,” Holtgraver continued. “A lot of our partners are located right in Western Pennsylvania, so this gives them an opportunity to come to the track and be a part of the action. They are the ones who keep my involvement in racing possible. I love racing close to home.”

Danny Holtgraver will enter the All Star double fresh off of a start at Mansfield (Ohio) Motor Speedway during the inaugural Sprint Car World Championship. Kicking-off the weekend with a top-ten finish during preliminary feature competition, Holtgraver was well on his way to a Sprint Car World Championship main-event start when tire issues became a burden, actually cutting a tire while leading his respective B-main.

“It’s not how we wanted to end our weekend, but it is what it is,” Holtgraver said regarding his Sprint Car World Championship outcome. “We know our potential and we know what kind of speed we can produce. Unfortunately, the track got the best of us that night. We’ll try to make up for it with an All Star win in our own backyard.”
