NEW CASTLE, Ind. (April 30, 2018) – New Castle, Indiana’s Caleb Armstrong made the most of his Sprint Car World Championship provisional starting position on Saturday night at Mansfield (Ohio) Motor Speedway, hard charging from 23rd to finish 10th during the 50-lap, $100,000-to-win blockbuster. For Armstrong, it was his first dirt start since qualifying for the Chili Bowl Nationals in mid-January.

Armstrong earned his provisional starting position by winning Manfield’s inaugural Great Lakes Dirt Nationals in August. The victory, the largest of his career, awarded $15,000.

“It was a great run for us. I can’t thank everyone enough for helping us make this possible,” Armstrong said, driver of the Armstrong Farms/Neal Metal Recycling/Baker Crop Insurance/No. 7C sprint car. “We ran most of the program to get some added lap time, but our main focus was the main event. We knew we were going to have to start deep if we used the provisional. Our game plan was to race smart and keep out of trouble. It worked out well.”

Up next on the schedule, Caleb Armstrong is expected to enter the 70th Annual Little 500 at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway on May 26. Due to Armstrong’s busy work schedule, no other dates have been added to his racing calendar. More updates will be released at a later time.
