PORTAGE, Wis. (January 2, 2018) – The TUNDRA Super Late Model Series Powered by Wisconsin Potatoes released its 2018 schedule Tuesday. The schedule features six races at six tracks in the state of Wisconsin.

For the fifth consecutive season the series will begin its campaign at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wis., on Saturday, May 12. Last year’s Krolls West Round One featured a new track record by eventual series Champion Dalton Zehr and a breathtaking ending with Steve Apel stealing the win from Zehr on the run to the checkered flag.

Round Two features a return to Marshfield Motor Speedway for a Saturday afternoon event on June 9. The event honors devoted race fan Bev Aschenbrenner. It will be TUNDRA’s first stop at the facility since 2015 when Dalton Zehr took a trip to Victory Lane at the half-mile.

After two larger tracks to begin the season, TUNDRA will swing into Round Three at State Park Speedway in Wausau, Wis., on Saturday, July 7 for Round Four. This event will be a perfect wrap to the Fourth of July Week with a fireworks display to illuminate the sky during the program, as well. Last season Chris Wimmer dominated the TUNDRA event with a clean sweep at his home facility.

A busy swing continues as the series moves to Wisconsin’s Action Track – Jefferson Speedway – on Saturday, July 21 for Round Four. The bad-luck bug bit many contenders early in last year’s event. In the end it was Wyatt Brooks holding on for his first series win over eventual Dean’s Satellite and Security Rookie of the Year John Beale, who started at the tail of the grid.

The stars of TUNDRA will enjoy a hearty break after the first four rounds before getting back into action on Labor Day, Monday, September 3, for Round Five at Golden Sands Speedway. Mike Lichtfeld secured his first series win last year by holding off a hard-charging Jordan Thiel.

The sixth and final round will be held at the birth place of TUNDRA – Dells Raceway Park – on Sunday, September 23 as part of the September Showdown Weekend. Once again TUNDRA will crown its Champion with an afternoon affair. Jordan Thiel scored his first series win last season after out-dueling Cole Anderson late in the race.

Support divisions for the 2018 season’s events will be named at a later time.
