WIR’S “THURSDAY NIGHT THUNDER” OPENER SLATED FOR MAY 24, 2018

(Kaukauna, WI) – The Fox River Racing Club has announced its 2018 season opening “Thursday night Thunder” race at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna will take place Thursday, May 24 at 6:45 p.m.
The weekly Thursday night program has consistently drawn one of the highest weekly super late model car counts in the Midwest, with a semi-feature being run every night in the division in 2017. The super late models will return weekly, along with late models on the half-mile. On the quarter-mile the ¼ mile late models will be back with some dates, along with super stocks, sport trucks, Sizzlin’4’s, a three race schedule with the local dirt sportmods, and the Figure 8’s.
Special events with other divisions may also be included.
An ambitious full schedule of events for the D-shaped, half-mile paved oval is expected to be released soon. That schedule will include the 47th running of the Red, White and Blue state championship series. The Red race will be June 7, White race July 12 and Blue race August 9.
The traditional “Tuesday Biggie” – the Dixieland 250 ARCA Midwest Tour super late model event will be held Tuesday August 7.
The “Pavement Pounder” Triple Crown series will host three events featuring the local dirt sportmods, with a point fund being doled out to participants who support the three race deal. The “Pavement Pounder” series events will be run on Thursday nights June 14, July 19 and August 16.
Tuesday night oval practices are slated to begin on May 1 with Saturday, May 5 serving as the annual FRRC practice and inspection day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Spectator admission is free that day.
