Zearfoss claims Billy Kimmel Memorial at The Grove; Tuscarora weekend fills upcoming agenda

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, PA (September 5, 2017) – Powering to his sixth victory of the 2017 season, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss claimed the 2017 Billy Kimmel Memorial at Williams Grove Speedway on Sunday, September 3, withstanding late race pressure by Freddie Rahmer to cross under the final checkers 1.3 seconds ahead of the competition. For Zearfoss, it was his second victory of the season at Williams Grove Speedway and his second for part-time car owner, Aaron Long, also beating the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during the Summer Nationals in July.

“We’ve been on a roll and it feels great,” Zearfoss said of his 2017 accomplishments aboard the H&N Landscaping/RV 4 Wheel Drive/Leahys Auto Body & Towing/No. 58. “Aaron Long does a fantastic job with his race car. It took us a while at the beginning of the year to find our stride, but we’ve been on a rail since then. I can’t thank him enough for the opportunity. We still have some to get another one this year. Aaron definitely deserves that.”

Nearly getting two victories in a row during Labor Day weekend, Zearfoss returned to the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” on Monday afternoon, September 4, for the annual Labor Day Classic. A race that ended with a drag race to the checkers, Zearfoss finished second during the $4,000-to-win program, leading a large segment of the 25-lapper before being overtaken by Gettysburg’s Danny Dietrich just before the flag stand. The margin of victory was a mere-.111 seconds.

“That was an awesome race,” Zearfoss said, who pilots his own Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Meckley’s Limestone/Central Builders Supply Co./Berkebile Oil Company/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/No. 3Z during events at Port Royal Speedway. “Danny [Dietrich] kinda came out of nowhere there at the finish. You can’t count him out. We were a little disappointed, but no shame in finishing second. We’ll try again this weekend.”

An event highlighted on Zearfoss’ schedule since the blockbuster was announced, Brock Zearfoss will return to the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” on September 8-9 with the intent to tame the Juniata County Fairgrounds half-mile during the 50th running of the Tuscarora 50. The two-day event, sanctioned by the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, will be comprised of two, full programs headlined with the 50-lap finale awarding $50,000 on Saturday, September 9.

“This is the one I’ve been waiting for,” Zearfoss explained, a four-time winner at Port Royal Speedway in 2017. “I think everyone has had this race circled on their calendars. We have a game plan. If anyone has an edge heading into the weekend, it should be us. We’re ready to go.”
