Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association

Announces Three Straight Double-Header Weekends

Adds I-77 to this week's line-up Saturday, July 31
By Scott Wolfe

STEWART, OHIO-The ever-growing Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association (OVSCA) has announced the addition of a race this weekend (Saturday, July 21) at the I-77 Motorsports Park in Fairplain, WV.  The addition of this race gives series racers and outside invaders a trio of consecutive two-race weekends. Friday night, July 30, the series invades Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio.
Two weeks ago the OVSCA made it initial appearance at the fast 3/8 mile red clay oval in Jackson County, WV.  The fans loved it as Andre Layfield won his first 410 feature ever in a stout field of 19 cars.
The Rocky Top Raceway will welcome the stars and cars of the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association (OVSCA) to the track on Friday, August 6th for the “Summer Sizzler” paying $3,000 to win. The show will be one of the largest paying shows on the OVSCA 2010 tour and one of the bigger Sprint Car shows in southern Ohio.
“We are looking forward to having the OVSCA sanction our 410 Sprint Car show August 6th”, stated RTR promoter T. J. Layne. “With the combination of the OVSCA and the area that we are located in, I believe all the potential is there for a tremendous field of cars for the Summer Sizzler. This is going to be a show that area Sprint Car fans are not going to want to miss!”
The following night, Saturday, August 7 the series visits Wayne McPeek's Ohio Valley Speedway in Lubeck, WV. It will be the third appearance of the year on the fast West Virginia oval.
The Rocky Top/Ohio Valley combo again gives racers two shows in a close proximity, allowing both fans and drivers less travel time and drivers a chance to earn more OVSCA cash.
The final two-week weekend of the month will be Friday, August 13 at Skyline Speedway and Saturday, August 14 at Tyler County Speedway.
Nearly $20,000 has been raised for the series point fund and sprint track champions at Skyline Speedway will enjoy awards typical of those in the past in addition to the series point fund payout. Details of the points and other series policy will be available on the OVSCA website at << http://www.ovsprintcars.com/ >> .
