Stateline Auto Parts partners with Stateline for Epic Demo on Labor Day



Busti, NY (August 27, 2014): Brian Horner's Stateline Auto Parts has agreed to partner with Bill Catania's Stateline Speedway to revive a favorite fan tradition, the annual Epic Labor Day Demolition Derby. The two businesses have often partnered over the years and this is a "natural fit" for a salvage yard, where many early race-cars were built. Speedway CEO Bill Catania stated "Stateline Speedway is thrilled to partner with Brian Horner and Stateline Auto Parts as our exclusive Auto Recycling Partner for Labor Day Demo Derby. Brian has been a friend of Stateline Speedway for a long time and we are thankful to continue that relationship for years to come".



The annual tradition began in 1962 and was known as the ”100-Car Demo Derby" and will now be known as the "Brian J Horner Inc Epic Demo". This year the event will begin at 1 PM with gates opening at 9 AM for the pit and fan gates opening at noon. 



An over $7000 guaranteed purse will be paid to competitors in two classes, Full Size Cars and Compact Cars with the top prize being $3500 for the Full Size winner. The Compact winner will get $1000. Second will be $1000 for Full Sized and $500 for Compacts with third places getting $500 (Full Size) and $250 (Compact). There will also be a "Best of Show" award of $250. The car deemed the "Hardest Hitter" will be awarded $25 in each heat and $50 in both features. 



Any stock automobile can be used including station wagons but must be a two-wheel drive, no 4x4s even if the front drive shaft is removed. Also no ambulances, hearses,trucks, checkers, or any other oversized vehicles. Absolutely not convertibles or "T-Tops". All sunroofs must be covered with sheet metal, screwed in place. 



All drivers must wear long sleeved shirts and long pants (no shorts). Coveralls are preferred. Drivers must wear a approved helmet, eye protection and a safety belt, both lap and shoulder.

Gates will open for the Pits at 9AM, $20 Pit admission



Opening time for the Grandstands will be Noon, $10 for adults, $9 for Seniors, $5 for Student (6-16), under 5 is FREE



Heats start promptly at 1PM



Top 3 in the heats will receive $75 and a trophy, 4th place will receive a trophy and all (4) will advance to the Feature.



If enough cars sign in there will be a "consi" as a 'last chance'.
