2012 Pure Stock Rules

REFER TO RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER, GENERAL SAFETY, AND TRACK RULES

I. BODY AND FRAME
A.
No station wagons, convertibles, or front wheel drives.
B.
Minimum wheel base 108”
C.
Body sheet metal must remain stock appearing.
D.
Cockpits must remain open.
E.
Front and rear firewall to remain intact with stock floor plan. Any removal must add 200 lbs.
F.
Hood and trunk lid must be pinned, NO bolting down.
G.
Doors to be welded, chained, or bolted.
H.
All chrome and glass removed.
I.
Door panels, carpet, headliners, etc. to be removed.
J.
All drivers must use 5 point safety harness belts, approved racing helmets, and must wear
approved firesuit at all times on the racetrack. Window nets are required.
K.
Fire extinguisher, minimum 2.5 lbs, to be mounted securely in driver reach.
L.
NO spoilers.
M.
Front and rear stock bumpers only. Must be strapped, bolted, or chained. Tubular bumpers must be
covered.
N.
NO mirrors or radios.
O.
Gas tanks must be securely fastened. Fuel cells are allowed.
P.
Front windshield may be replaced if necessary (Lexan is acceptable). Windshield protection bars
may also be used.
Q.
Shocks must be factory OEM shocks.
R.
All suspension components must remain stock OEM parts. Screw jacks allowed on rear ONLY.
S.
Minimum weight 3200 lbs.
T.
Batteries may be mounted in stock location or any other safe position. If in driver’s compartment,
it must be mounted inside a safe and securely mounted box. The battery must be covered.

U.
Total left side weight NOT to exceed 57%.
II. ENGINE
A.
Engine must be stock for make and model and in stock position.
B.
Stock cast iron intake and exhaust manifolds. Center dumps are allowed.
C.
Engine must remain in stock mounts. All parts must be OEM.
D.
Holley 4412 carburetor or stock carburetor is allowed. All carburetors must have the full choke
butterfly intact and wired open.
E.
Stock style HEI ignition ONLY. NO MSD style ignitions.
F.
Automatic transmission only. Must have working torque converter, reverse, and car must idle in
gear (or an OEM manual transmission and minimum 7.25 clutch with a 200 lbs penalty).
G.
Posi-trac, limited slip, welded or locked differentials will be allowed. 9” Ford rear-ends in Fords
ONLY.
H.
Brakes must work on all 4 wheels. NO brake bias devices allowed.
I.
One gallon radiator over-flow catch can is mandatory with over-flow holes to exit on windshield.
J.
Use of antifreeze is NOT allowed.
III. TIRES AND WHEELS
A.
Hoosier 790’s or any D.O.T. 70 series street legal 7” max treads with tires.
B.
Max 8” wide steel safety wheels ONLY. 1” lug nuts highly recommended.
