PROMOTERS POINT DECEMBER 30!

One last column to close out 2011 and there is alot to talk about!
Lets start with M40! Staying on Friday nights! Great move, in my humble opinion!
Lets see, on Saturdays, we have South Bend, New Paris, Galesburg, Kalamazoo plus Plymouth dirt specials!
Famous last words, I know, but if I could one thing over at Mottville it would have been to switch to Sundays way sooner then we did!
Sunday is tough day no doubt but racing on Saturday against all these other tracks is even tougher!
I see M40 now has the tv show and a ride along car so looks like it will be an exciting season for them.
Been reading the big debate on SCE on qualifying points!
Not a problem at Mottville!
Say what you will, and lots of people have plenty to say, but we have no problem with qualifying points or going over your time!
Saves a ton of headaches!
My last column I said I needed plastic trash barrels and people soon responded!
Randy Thomas is getting me some of the large ones and Chris Waqlsworth is getting me a bunch of smaller ones for the front!
Thanks guys!
Our Awards Banquet is shaping up very nicely at this point in time!
37 tickets so far, which is way ahead of where we normally are at this point in time!
Plus Hoosier Tire giving away track champion jackets and several places coming through with door prizes!
Went to Mottville Wednesday to pay property taxes and then stopped by the track for a look see.
Looked great except one light pole on the back stretch had fallen against the fence.
The very pole we needed to turn the light around on!
So come March 1 we either put in a new pole or put up another antenna tower.
I like the antenna towers because you can lower them and change bulbs without a lift.
We also want to add two lights to turn 3 at the entrance to the track so we are in need of another antenna tower.
Anyone know where we can get one?
I got our 1099''s off in the mail on December 24!
How about that!
We had one driver make just short of $7000!
Several made over $3000 and we do not run late models!
Well, we are in what is known as the "silly season" now.
Drivers changing tracks all over the place.
Seems when some drivers have some success at Mottville they become too good for us!
But at the same time we have several new drivers coming to Mottville in 2012.
You can't base too much on what you hear during the off season I have found.
But I do know we have had a ton of interest in our new Hornet class!
But most of that interest is from new drivers which is fantastic!
Do I think we can race both Mini Thunder Cars and Hornets?
Absolutely!
Plus in time I think you will see other tracks do the same thing.
Guess which track was the first area track to run Mini Stocks?
Yep, Mottville!
Which area track was the first to run front wheel drives?
Yep, Mottville!
Anyway, I think I am more excited about the 2012 racing season then I have ever been about any season!
Not looking foward to the work required to get in the two new lights and replacing the one pole, of course, but looking foward to hearing the roar of the engines at Mottville again!
Wishing all of you a happy, healthly and blessed 2012 and thanks for all the birthday greetings!
