MAURER, WOODS, MAST & ROBERTS TAKE MOTTVILLE FINALS!

MOTTVILLE,MI., SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3.2011-Al Maurer, Caleb Woods, Mike Mast and Todd Roberts took Season Champion features on a beautiful Saturday evening at the Mottville Speedway!
28 cars were on hand which for November 5 is fantastic!
One spectator remarked that his two hour drive was well worth it!
On the final hot lap of 2011 Al Maurer put his street stock deep into the woods off turn 3! The car went over the tires and finally was stopped by a tree!
But Maurer's crew went to work and had the car ready for the heat which Maurer won.
Maurer then came back and won his 3rd feature of the season with a 15 lap victory of Chris Gour.
In an amazing day of scratches-Dave Logan, Brad Blackburn, Sr. and Steve Woods all had mechanical woes!
John Courson and Caleb Woods worked on Caleb's Pure Stock until 3 am and he then brought it to Mottville for the first time this season and won the 20 lap feature over David Terry, Steve Woods, Al Mauer and Dave Logan.
Logan was challenging for the lead when he lost his drive shaft!
Logan won the heat.
After 21 laps of the 25 lap Mini Stock feature Eric Frazier had the lead over Mike Mast and Josh Dunnuck but Frazier spun in turn 4 trying to lap a car and took the tail on the restart.
Frzier came back strong and in a near photo finish it was Mast, Fracier and Dunnuck in the top 3!
Kevin Grubb was 4th followed by Larry Fullbright II, Ryan Schrock, Bobby Laughter, and Justin Graber.
Graber blew his engine in the middle of turns 1 and 2 amid a cloud of smoke but somehow the leaders all managed to get by him safety!
Later Laughter blew his engine as well.
Cassten Everidge won the dash and then had to scratch for the 3rd week in a row with mechanical woes!
Frazier won the heat.
The final race of 2011 was the Mini Thunder Car 25 lap feature and it was also exciting!
David Terry led the first 9 laps until Nick Weeks took command!
Weeks and Todd Roberts battled in out until lap 23 when Weeks slid slightly and Roberts took over for the lead and a close win!
It was Robert's 6th feature win of the season.
Dave Logan was 3rd followed by Chris Walsworth, David Terry, Jack Hurford, Michael Ellsworth, Jacob Lucas and Steve Woods.
Roberts won the dash and Waddsworth the heat.
The track lights went on for the 3rd time this season.
Dave Logan scored an historic first for the 61 year history of the Mottville Speedway by capturing 3 season points championships-Street Stocks,Pure Stocks and Mini Thunder Cars!
Josh Dunnuck was the Mini Stock season points champion and also the MS Rookie of the Year!
Jack Hurford was the MTC Rookie of the Year while Jacob Maynard was the SS Rookie of the Year!
Next up will be the annual Awards Banque to be held Saturday, February 25 at 5pm at Dal Mar Catering Hall in Nappanee.
Trophies will go to the top 10 in each division(top 12 in MIni Stocks) who purchase tickets by February 1.
Tickets are $25 until December 31 and then $30.
Sponsorships are available for trophies ranging in price from $40 to $25, depending on where the driver finished in the standings.
For 2012 Mottville will run Sportsmen, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Mini Thunder Cars.
Rules will be posted next week.
Mottville will open for hot laps March 17 and 24, 2012 with the first race scheduled for March 31.
The first Sunday race is April 15.
