PROMOTERS POINT-NOVEMBER 2!

I had planned to write a 2011 season review this week but old Mother Nature threw a wrench into those plans Sunday!
Well, actually a combination of Mother Nature and The Weather Channel!
Now every promoter out there can relate to what follows!
On Sunday I leave home at 8:30 am so any decision on racing must be made by then.
So I checked TWC and it said 60 per cent chance of rain at 5 pm.
Since we start at 4 that would make getting the program in totally impossible!
So I postponed the Season Championship to November 5!
Well, I got back home around 3pm and guess what?
TWC had changed it now to rain at 7pm!
So with trophy night it would have been close but we might have been able to get it in!
Anyway, we look good for wrapping things up this Saturday when gates open at 3 with racing at 4.
Trophies to the top 5 in Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks and Mini Thunder Cars.
Yes, we will have the treats for the kids that we were supposed to have last Sunday!
It will also be bonus points night so we shall see how the final standings shuffle!
Last week I spent a lot of time empting trash, not too glamarous, but must be done.
Filled the dumpster to the top so had to wait until today when the dumpster get emptied to dump some more!
Then Saturday night we will drain the water pipes, Tom Pearson comes back early in the week and blows out the lines, and I come back later in the week and put rv anti-freeze in the drains and stools and unplug everything and the track is ready for its annual winter rest.
We are getting a new side by side tonight which will give us more freezer space and more space for bottled soft drinks.
Since we have expanded our concession menu we need more space and this will be a very nice addition!
Concessions is one of my hot bottons and I want to keep upgrading there!
Back to last Saturday!
It rained all over the area in the afternoon but not at Mottville!
It was cool and from time to time during the racing we had some very light rain drops but nothing serious.
So as a result we had our smallest crowd of the season but we did have 22 cars-7 Mini Stocks, 6 Mini Thunder Cars, 5 Pure Stocks and 4 Street Stocks.
Some really good racing also!
Another big thank-you goes out to Kevin and Kenny Koscher for the use of their ambulance again Saturday!
Our track champions are actually decided and Dave Logan will win an historic 3 point championships!
Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Mini Thunder Cars!
Josh Dunnuck will be the Mini Stock champion, really unusual for a rookie!
It looks like Jacob Maynard will be our SS Rookie of the Year with Dunnuck the Mini Stock ROY and Jack Hurford the MTC ROY.
Al Maurer has zoomed up to 3rd in the SS points! Brad Blackburn, Sr. is now 5th and Chris Gour, a rookie, 8th.
Kevin Grubb could move into 5th in the MS standings and Justin Graber is now 10th.
Steve Woods has a good shot at finishing as high as 7th in the MTC standings!
Our annual Awards Banquet will be Saturday, February 26 at Dal-Mar Catering Hall in Nappanee where they have all you can eat, fantastic food!
Social time at 5 with dinner at 6!
Tickets are $25 if purchased by December 31 and $30 after that.
Trophies to the top 10 in each division if you purchase your ticket by February 1!
And for those of you interested in 2012-here goes!
We will open the track for hot laps on Saturday, March 17 and 24 from 1-5 pm.
The first night of racing will be Saturday, March 31.
We will run again on Saturday, April 7 and then switch to Sundays starting April 15.
35 dates on the 2012 schedule including Memorial Day Monday, Wednesday, July 4 for a trophy nite, Labor Day Monday and the season ends on Saturday, November 3!
So we can say we raced 9 months of the year, the same as this year.
We are starting two weeks later in 2012 because the car count was not good the first two weeks of 2011.
We will switch back to Saturdays in October.
The 27th Annual Indiana-Michigan Challenge Cup will be October 20 and 21.
The tentative date for the Outlaw Late Model show is Saturday, October 20. (rain date Ooctober 21).
The Larry Birk Memorial trophy night will be July 29.
So more on 2012 later but now its on to the SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT with trophies to the top 5 in each division plus treats for the kids and a big drawing!
Its your chance to see a live race in Michigan in November!
