Tickets Now Available For 2016 Championship Celebration

ROSSBURG, Ohio (December 19) – Eldora Speedway’s 63rd season of racing will be feted Saturday, January 21, 2017 when the top drivers from the DIRTcar UMP Late Models, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, Eldora Stocks and Sunoco American Late Model Series are honored in the legendary Eldora Ballroom.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. with ceremonies beginning at 6:30 p.m.

It will be a big night for Ohio drivers, as each champion hails from the Buckeye State.  Jon Henry (DIRTcar UMP Late Model), Jeff Koz (DIRTcar UMP Modified) and Rob Trent (Eldora Stocks) will receive their Eldora championship accolades as they reigned over the balance of the top-15 drivers from the cumulative points chase.  Rusty Schlenk will accept the Sunoco ALMS championship hardware.

In addition to over $30,000 in point fund monies and commemorative trophies, numerous specialty awards will be distributed.  Honors for Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Driver, Hard Luck and Best Appearing Car will be announced for Eldora’s three mainstay divisions.  The esteemed Chick Hale Sportsman of the Year trophy will be presented as well.

Tickets to the affair remain value-priced at $23 per person and may be purchased online throughout the holidays at www.EldoraSpeedway.com and by phone beginning Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at (937) 338-3815 during normal business hours.  The deadline for ordering is January 13, 2017.

About Eldora Speedway:

Since carved from a cornfield in the natural amphitheater that existed between the Eldora Ballroom and the Wabash River by bandleader Earl Baltes in 1954, Eldora Speedway has grown to be a frontrunner in motorsports growth and stability. Baltes chose to sell the legendary high-banked clay oval to motorsports entrepreneur and NASCAR, IndyCar and USAC champion Tony Stewart in 2004.  Celebrating its 64th season in 2017, Eldora hosts the biggest events in short-track racing including the 23rd annual Dirt Late Model Dream; the 34th annual Kings Royal Weekend; the Camping World Truck Series’ Eldora Dirt Derby – the only NASCAR National Series race on dirt; and the 47th annual World 100. The complete schedule for Eldora’s 64th consecutive season, including ticket and campsite information, will be available soon at www.EldoraSpeedway.com and can be requested by phone at (937) 338-3815.
