Mike's Final Thoughts - November 5, 2011
Good Afternoon Everyone!
These will be the final set of thoughts put on the Website! Last night we hosted the annual Awards Banquet, which went over very well. We gave out over $49,000 in awards and prize funds for the seven divisions that were present. The banquet was well attended as we had a total count of 512 people there! Congrats to all the Champions and winners of awards last night as they were all very well deserved! We handed out a few very special awards such as the Humanitarian award in Memory of Walker Office Trevor Slot, which was awarded to Walker Officer and Berlin Raceway Driver Rob Shoemaker. The sleeper of the year award was also very special and went out to a young individual who poured his life into this sport, Congrats Nate Walton!
Before I get to far, I forgot to mention one thing last night, as I had my mind full of emotions things were easily forgotten or skipped over. I would like to thank my employee Kyle Heemstra for what a wonderful job that he has done for me this past season and all the work that he has done. He put together all the powerpoints and videos for the banquet last night and without him, the banquet would not have been such a huge success.
As stated at the Banquet last night, I will no longer be the promoter of Berlin Raceway. A management group has been put together with Don DeWitt as the lead person behind the operation. As of right now, I will still be on stay as a consultant for Berlin Raceway. It has sure been an interesting three years! I really don’t want to get into why I will not be there anymore too far. But I will be furthering my business, Boyne Machine, with my partners Rusty and Randy Parker.
I have many people that I would like to thank for helping me out these past three years, and there sure are way too many to thank! You people who supported me know who you are, and I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart! It truly was a great privilege to be the promoter of Berlin for the past three years! For all of you out there that don’t agree with the decisions that have been made, we all have our enemies that we do not agree with, and you may be happy for the change in management for the upcoming season. All I can say is that I have given my 100% best effort and did my best to make this business as successful as it could possibly be.
Thank you to all who have read my thoughts for the past three years! My memories of Berlin Raceway will NEVER be forgotten!!! Last but not least, I loved being the Promoter of Berlin Raceway! Best of luck to everyone for the 2012 Season.
Sincerely,
Michael Blackmer
