Baerfield reports passing of Hall of Fame Member

It is with great sadness, that the Speedway announces the passing of Hall of Fame Member

 

Carroll W. "Bill" Mitchell

 

A successful businessman and avid race fan,

Bill was a car owner and later became the promoter of "The NEW Baer Field Raceway".

He was inducted into the Baer Field Speedway "Hall of Fame" in 2002.

 

He was the founder and owner-operator of Clark & Mitchell Carpet and Antique and Classic Motors.

He served as Bank Director of Anthony Wayne Bank, Summit Bank and NBD Bank.

 

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Beth,

children Greg, Teresa, Susan and Erin, and his entire family.

 

Services are 1 p.m. Friday March 11, 2011 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home

8408 Covington Rd. with calling 2 hours prior to service.
