Events at Crystal Motor Speedway had to be canceled Saturday night when the track lost power due to the weather system that brought 45 to 60 mph winds. Owner Ron Flinn explained that while the village of Crystal still had electricity, the track itself got its power from the opposite side of the power grid, leaving him in the dark. A frustrated Flinn said that the staff had done a lot of work to be ready for Saturdays racing event,

 but

they would continue to work on installing more parking pads in the pit areas. Over 154 cars made the trip to the opening event last week.

Next week at Crystal Motor Speedway is the tremendously popular Janet Zeigler Memorial ‘Yes 2 Kids’ event where kids can ride on with one of many racers who attend the event from 6 to 7 PM. Zeigler was a long time worker at the track, and this event was named in her honor. All seven of the regular divisions will be on hand. Gates open at 4:30, the ‘Kids Ride’ event is 6 to 7, and racing begins at 7:30. Adults are $12, kids 5-11 are $5, and pit passes are $30.
