The IRL is planning to introduce a new car for competition beginning in 2012. Several past and present racecar design firms have presented drawings in hopes of being selected for the new car. The IRL also demanded that the cars be offered at a reduced cost and afford teams to build the cars "locally". One presentation has offered a car weighing several hundred pounds lighter than the current car and able to reach speeds of 235mph using roughly half the current horsepower (650+/-) of the Honda Indy engines. Keep an eye on Indycar this season as they attempt to revolutionize the sport in the near future to capture a new generation of race fans. Anyone see #12 Brad Keselowski's flight at Atlanta Motor Speedway last week during the Sprint Cup race? #99 Carl Edwards sent him for a ride that put NASCAR back in the headlines with Danica now concentrating on her IRL season. After many "experts" called for Carl's head he was only placed on probation the next three races. Our thought is a Edwards/Keslowski door to door battle at Bristol (next Cup race) is more important to NASCAR's TV ratings and tickets sales than parking the #99 for an extended period. On a side note the #12 was driven last year by South Bend area driver David Stremme who we have raced against several times with our #40 Superlate. Brad Keselowski is from Rochester Hills, Michigan. Brad and his brother Brad are long time Michigan area racers. The fledgling Great Lakes Outlaw Latemodel series has added Plymouth Speedway, Baerfield Speedway, and Angola Speedway to their 2010 schedule. Berlin and Kalamazoo are also on the schedule. We are finalizing our 2010 Superlate schedule and hope to compete in a few of these events. From Kalamazoo Speedway- Make plans to attend this year’s Kalamazoo Speedway Meet & Greet at the Zoo.
