Saturday night at Crystal Motor Speedway over 130 cars made their way to the pits to compete for the crowd and gather season points

In the Kentucky Fried Chicken Late Model main event, Ithaca’s Chris Rinard held off all comers as he pocketed the win over Kurt Mesman of Wyoming, Tyler Norton, Midland, Ryan Kent, Greenville, and Josh Borton of Crystal. Megan Carpenter of Lainsburg advanced to the feature by winning the B Main. Kent, Mesman, and Ryan VanderVeen of Six Lakes picked up heat wins.

Greenville’s  Brady Hollenbeck brought home the feature win in the Lane Automotive IMCA Modified division over Chad Wernette of Sheridan Austin Wonch, Crystal, Brody Bowser, Stanton, and Ken Zeigler of Ovid. Hollenbeck and Wonch also grabbed their heat event wins.

Kevin Rohn of Stanton brought home the gold in the Next Level Graphics and Design Street Stock feature, holding back Ryan Alexander, Stanton, Steve Doty, Alma, Matt Thacker of Belding, and Alex Richards of Hubbardston. Sheridan’s Dillon Kohn picked up the B Main win while Rohn, Thacker, and Tony Campbell of Belding scored victories in their preliminary heat events.

Mike Currier continued his winning streak in the Races On The Web Flinn Stock feature, with Rusty Sowles of Greenville, James Bannister, St. Johns, Brandyn Ciganik, Stanton, and Justin Stahl of Greenville following. Currier and Stahl also picked up victories in their heats.

The Port City Racing Pro Stock feature was taken by Kyle Hunt of Bannister, followed by Jeremy Spencer, Deford, Josh Sternberg, Muskegon, Cade Schafer, Mt. Pleasant, and Tim Degroft. Hunt and Derrick Dennis of Greenville grabbed wins in the heat events.

A previous season season champion in the Engine Pro Pro Truck division lead the way to the checkers as Curtis Rice of Muskegon held back Paul Grosnickle, Lansing, Kolby Rohn, Sheridan, Elizabeth Polley, Riverdale, and Darin Lund of Sheridan for the win. Heat wins were claimed by Grosnickle and Kenny Dittenber of Carson City.

The Greenville Daily News 6 to 9-year-old Mini-Wedge beginners division feature was picked up by June Dora of Fenwick as she bested Eli Fellows, Crystal, Landyn Neitling, Saginaw, Delano Hale, Crystal, and Jazzlyn Hale of Crystal. Dora and Neitling picked up heat wins.

In the 10 to 14-year-old division of the Mini-Wedge, Zayden Buskirk of Crystal moved up through the field to grab the win over Zayden Olger, St. Johns, Mikah Kurkowski, Sidney, Lilyann Montgomery, Crystal, and Kristine Fidler of Alma.

Next week at Crystal Motor Speedway is the Mid-Season Championship for all divisions, sponsored by CMSInter.net of Mt. Pleasant and Crystal. The IMCA Modifieds will be running for $1252 to win the feature, sponsored by Lane Automotive. The night will also feature the exciting annual ‘Twin Flinn’ event where two different races happen on the same track at the same time, going in opposite directions. Adult admission is $15, kids 5-11 are $5, and pit passes are $30. Gates open at 5 PM.
