Showers that started Thursday night and continued into late afternoon Friday, soaked the grounds of Wayne County Speedway and with no drying weather plus more rain forecast in the late afternoon on Saturday, promoter Jason Flory and the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions officials decided to cancel the Saturday night action. The ASCoC Sprints are scheduled back at ‘Orrville’s Historic Oval’ on Saturday, May 25th for a $5,000 to win feature. The McKenzie Concrete Super Stocks and the JoyRide Transportation Mini Stocks will be on that nights racing card.
The month of May schedule will start off with the first two Saturdays, the 4th and the 11th being Fast Four Racing Program shows featuring the Pine Tree Towing & Recovery Sprints, the Malcuit Tavern Super Late Models, the McKenzie Concrete Super Stocks and the JoyRide Transportation Mini Stocks. All four class’ will be vying for O’Reilly Auto Parts ‘Race to the Championship’ points. Saturday, May 4th will also be CDL License night while the next week, Saturday, May 11th will be Big Wheel and Bike Races for the kids.
The Morton Buildings World of Outlaw Late Model Series will take on the 3/8 mile racing surface on Saturday, May 18th for a big $10,000 to win 50 lap event. Brandon Sheppard has posted the wins the last two years at Wayne County Speedway and will be looking to make it three in a row. The McKenzie Concrete Super Stocks and the JoyRide Transportation Mini Stocks will battle for more O’Reilly Auto Parts ‘Race to the Championship’ points also.
The Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Sprints will close out the month of May on Saturday the 25th with a $5,000 to win feature with the McKenzie Concrete Super Stocks and JoyRide Transportation Mini Stocks chasing more O’Reilly’s Auto Parts points.
